Hi everyone after a few blue screens and freezing I finally removed one of my 8g RAM sticks and I believe that it was the culprit as its been a couple of days without any issues. I am currently left with my other 8g stick and just wanted to ask if that was alright or if there is anything i need to know (I don't want to buy another 8g this second as the prices seem insane). Am I fine functioning normally with that amount and doing whatever I need to, this computer is mostly for games and various music/recording software. Sorry if this is a silly question I don't know much about how RAM works.

Yeah, you'll be fine with 8gb's of memory. I had a similar issue with a 4x4gb 16gb kit. It's a good idea to see if you can get an RMA from your retailer / manufacturer. Personally I think they are a pain - having to mail crap and then waiting for a week or so. It's worth it in the end though if everything works out. I've seen requests where a retailer will want some kind of proof that the stick is damaged. I read about a guy having to send memtest86 screen shots to Newegg to get his RMA to go through but Newegg is a retailer, not a manufacturer. Never thought about going directly to Corsair for say, some dominator's. You would think to hit up the place you bought it from yeah? Well I dunno, see what they both say heh..

Unless your encoding super high resolution video or something gnarly you'll do just fine with 8gb. The problem for you is now that you have only a single stick, your running it in single channel. Single channel wont matter so much for games but it will slow you down a tiny bit for any kind of major content creation. It depends on the software you use. As for games, Battlefield1 will probably studder in large multiplayer maps.
It probably will be fine untill you have a chance to add another stick. For real. I have 8gb in a 2x4 because my kit came in the mail jank. I play games like Fallout 4, Doom, Battlefield1 but mostly older titles and its all good. BF1 game play has been the only noticable problem for me. Don't let people tell you single channel memory is killing your performance. It's really not.
