I need to defrag my D drive but the option to defrag is grayed out on the tools tape. I can't run it from the command line either. Any suggestions

In its final release form, Windows NT did not have its
own defragger. A third-party defragger, such as Executive
Software's Diskeeper, was recommended. Visit its website;
there is supposedly a free version, Diskeeper Lite, and
the full-blown product. Either one works pretty good with
Windows NT.
