1. Do SSDs require defragmenting?

2. There are so many different programmes for defragmenting HDDs. Why do some take so little time and some others take so much. I use Acronis and/or Paragon. Paragon takes really long time. But some other 3rd party software takes very little time. Does that mean that Paragon is doing a better job than those other fast-defragmenting programmes? I am willing to continue using Paragon, despite the long waiting time, so long as I know that it is actually doing a better job than other short-time defragmentation software.

If you have a better suggestion for defrag software than Acronis or Paragon, please throw it in.

You can try Diskeeper http://www.condusiv.com/products/diskeeper/. It will automatically defragment all your drives and is very light in system resources.
