That site is completely wrong, it's missing half the information and a lot of what is there is wrong.

The Extreme is a feature-packed board and much more expensive than the Z97-A. It's overkill for almost everyone. It also has the Z87 chipset. The Z97 chipset is made specifically for Devil's Canyon (i5-4690K, i7-4790K).

The Z97-A is a very solid board for a pretty good price.
