hi
I bought a Raspberry Pi and it arrived yesterday. Being a linux noob (I'm 13) i cant even get it to boot after install. it installs fine on an 8GB Class 4 SD card, and then after install when it reboots i get: [ "increasing number"] EXT4-fs error (device mmcblk0p6) : ext4_lookup:1437: inode "other changing numbers": comm getty: deleted inode referenced: "more changing numbers"
i get this trying to install raspian and arch. it installs from noobs 1.3.4 on a Pi Model B 512MB RAM.
i just want to use my Pi! Can anyone help?

P.S no linux jargon please, i am a noob

Solution
Hopefully it goes good for you! These Pi's are great to tinker with. I had PiMame installed for a bit. I scored some goofy arcade cabinet which I've been gutting. I'll run it with the Pi when I'm done. If you have any questions on it, post back here or hit me up via PM. I'm no expert, but I'll share what I know.
How exactly are you trying to install it? The directions on their site are pretty easy to follow, no "linux jargon" necessary.

I just installed Raspbian last night. I did the following:

Downloaded the Raspbian image from Raspberrypi.org
Downloaded win32diskimager
Unzipped the raspbian image
Flashed it with the disk imager
Threw it in the Pi and booted it.

I am using a mac. I unzipped the noobs folder and put the contents of the folder on the sd card, not the folder itself. Were you using noobs or the direct raspbian image? Maybe i should try that

Solution
Hi guys
Thanks for your answers but after five days of trying to get it to work, i ordered an sd card with noobs preinstalled. The sd card i originally had was a cheapo one from my local tech store. The one i ordered worked without any problems. Yay! Thanks for helping guys.
