OK...I screwed up. I deleted this Windows folder before checking...ya know.

Anyway, most functions are performing fine on my old Dell tower. BUT...

I can no longer run any MS Office applications. I am trying to reinstall Office 2007, but I get an error that says that Setup cannot start. Here's the error report:

EventType: office12setup
P1: {long string of numbers}
P2: 12.1.0.4518.1014
P3:X
P4:msiapicallfailure
P5:pror_ProrWW.xmi
P6:X
P7:X

I kinda need my Office Apps to work, duh.

Any help would be appreciated. Right now, I'm kinda stymied.

TIA

Are you trying to re-install it off a disk or from the options form Add/Remove programs?
Do you have system restore files enabled? If you do, try to roll back the system to a...
Try this MSOffice cleanup batch script:

Or this MSOffice clenup tool:
Remove Office 2007 1.0.0.0

Or while you work it out, try this MSOffice alternative which offers a word processor, a spreadsheet program and a presentation maker, and all are readily compatible with Microsoft Office documents, so you can open documents created in Microsoft with Kingsoft, and vice versa. And you can have both Kingsoft Office and Microsoft Office installed on the same OS just check/set the file association (Tools/Folder Options/file types) so files will automatically open with the Office you want.

Is the folder maybe still in the Recycle Bin?
You can also try to run the SP3 setup again, it may re-install that folder.
