hey, i really need some help
I’d been using Raid 0 with two of my Samsung 960 EVO 250G as my OS drive for 8 months and one of them suddenly died on me, won’t be recognized in BIOS, tried it with another pc, didn’t work, so i sent it to RMA, its so sudden, no warning, just BSOD, gone, and i havent backed up my work for 2 months (lazy), this is the lesson i will remember for the rest of my life
Anyway, so the other SSD still be recognized, i deleted the Raid Volume in BIOS, changed sata mode to AHCI, inserted a Windows 10 Installer USB, it shows ALL the partitions as if its a Raid Volume that i deleted, my 250G 960 EVO is being recognized as a 500GB drive, this is ridiculous, and i can’t delete the partitions with Windows installation, i keep getting ‘We couldn’t delete the selected partition. [Error: 0x80070057]’
I made a bootable external hdd and try running Disk Management, it recognizes my SSD as a deleted Raid Volume with all the partitions, BUT Samsung Magician and the NVMe Configuration see it correctly, as a 250G 960 EVO
I don’t really now what to do, i’m trying to fresh install my Windows 10 on my unraided SSD, i can’t format/delete the (spooked) partitions, i’m thinking about doing Samsung Magician’s Secure Erase, but i dont know the risk of doing it, i can’t have another bricked SSD on me
My mobo is Gigabyte z370XP SLI, has anyone encountered this problem? This is my first rig and i regret trying things that are beyond my knowledge
Please help, thank you so much
