Hi,
I've recently built my first PC, using mostly new components but with 2 x HDDs (and a PSU) from my old one.
I've installed a new copy of Windows 7 (my old one was an OEM version and therefore couldn't be transferred) onto a new SSD which is now my C: drive. I booted the PC up without the HDDs attached initially, installed and updated Windows, and then physically connected the old HDDs.
However, I want to clean them up by deleting old programs, including my old copy of Windows 7.
However, when I try to delete many of the folders I often get the message:
"You need permission to perform this action.
You require permission from TrustedInstaller to make changes to this folder".
The options then are Try Again or Cancel.
I could copy stuff I want to keep to the other HDD or my external HDD, and then reformat the drive, but that's a bit extreme and I'll then have to reinstall a whole bunch of stuff I'd rather not lose.
Also, when I try to launch any of the programs installed on the old HDD, I get a variety of error messages (and they don't load).
Any advice welcomed!
Cheers.
