Hello everyone. I have deleted the folder of old windows after i have reinstalled it, and 25GB should have been freed up, but it did not happen and now my hard disk is full. In the system files the folder windows.old takes up no space, so it is deleted, but it still says that my storage is full. How can i truly free up space?

You do that by determining exactly what is taking up your space.
Either WinDirStat or TreeSize will do that.

Possibly a Restore Point?

Also, how did you "delete" windows.old?

I used the disk cleanup tool. I will try with threesize and see what it tells me

If you mean deleted it as in right clicking and hitting delete? If you do that is just moves to the recycle bin on your desktop, try emptying the recycle bin completely.

I used the disk cleanup tool

Some disk cleanup tools don't actually work, BTW. Also, what drive are you using? it could be you just have a lot of stuff on it, and you might not be able to free up a lot of space.

I think he means the Disk Cleanup tool built into the OS.

Oh, that should work, unless there aren't any useless files to clean, in which case you need to delete your own files or buy a second drive.

I used treesize and it says that the "logs" folder is taking up 80GB, is this normal? Also i have deleted the restore point freeing up 6GB but they are getting filled up at very high speed

I deactivated the windows module installer and deleted the CBS file in the logs folder wchich was 80GB because of a compression bug apparently. Doing this i have freed up 120GB of space, i think that i have solved the issue

Ok, just be careful which files you delete as it may cause some functions to not work properly.
