If you've watching movies from your computer on the screen you can watch 4:3 with black bars. BUT if you just connect component inputs right from your external DVD/VHS player to the LCD itself and select COMPONENT input on the LCD then it stretches the signal. I don't see a way around that at the moment. But like mentioned above, from within the computer the video player/video card can offer more playback options. I just don't feel like turning on the computer everytime I want to watch TV so that's why I have mine set up that way. I really can hardly even notice the stretch.

Do you have any dead pixels? How is black displayed? I mean does the backlight illuminate through much when black is displayed?

And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh
So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>

This monitor is perfect by my standards. Black is pretty black. I had a 2005fpw with some backlight issues and you could easily identify them. This one seems to be as good as can be.

Dead pixels, any at all?

Not a stuck or dead pixel at all. My first 2005fpw had about 4 dead pixels and 4 stuck pixels (in different colors) plus backlight issues. My second 2005fpw had no pixel problems and the backlight was fine but not as good as this monitor (it had some slight issue in the corners, but nothing worth complaining about). The 2405fpw is perfect.

I ended up using one of those dead pixel test programs myself. I couldn't find any dead pixels either. And I was really expecting a least a few on a screen this size. I don't notice any corner issues with mine....

I've had it a few weeks now and don't know how I lived without it. I LOVE the picture-in-picture where I can watch cable in the corner of the screen while working. There's so much space that the PIP doesn't get in the way at all. I now don't get a sore neck by twisting to watch TV in another part of the room. So that's my fav feature so far.

And I was wrong above about the aspect ratio. You CAN also set it in the OSD to stretch or maintain aspect ration when using other video inputs.

oh very funny.

You know a true computer geek would be anti-paper and live completely digital. At work I have nothing in my file drawers and just a monitor and keyboard on my desk.

Wisconsin has nice Bass and even indoor plumbing, yes, it's true. You should visit sometime.

The problem is getting to Wisconsin. Burro is still the only way of getting there right?
