can I put the dell 42p49 motherboard in this case msi dark shadow or msi dark shadow pro.

The dell 3010 mt or dt will physically fit in any matx/atx case, but the front panel pins are non-standard and will not work.

No, the only way would be to find the pinouts of the headers and splice them to the case, or jury rig the original front panel and power button into a drive bay or something, they sell adapters for the fan headers though.

I have a dell t3500, I found wiring the front panel to my case too much of a hassle, so I simply found the pins for the power button and just have to deal with pressing f1 on every boot. But my pc is different from yours. Yours has a front panel 20pin and a 6pin power button. Either you go through all this work, or just use the power button cable spliced to the case power button, somehow, or just use the 3010 original case.
