Dell 4600 upgrade to windows 7

First of all I know xp is no longer supported by Microsoft. With that said I'm stuck. This is the problem. When I boot my computer it sais "this copy of windows must be activated with Microsoft before you can log on. Do you want to activate windows now? Yes No.

I don't want to activate it because there is nothing to activate.

What copy are we talking about? A Windows 7 that you installed? Or something else.

As said above, the 4600 is quite old. There are no Win7 drivers for it.
