Hello,
Just got myself a Alienware 240hz gaming monitor. Anyway, I can not install its driver, manually nor automatically. I tried pretty much everything that i bumped online.

When I open device manager, under Monitors it says Generic pnp monitor, and when I open Nvidia Control Panel, it states that its 240hz, g-sync enabled and full hd reso. Which seems like a hit.

The questiom is, is it ok for monitor to have that "generic pnp monitor" thing, or I have to keep trying to instal its original drivers?

Thanks

huh what? monitors dont come with drivers?

what is the issue?
Generally, the issue is that I cant install its drivers, nor start its DDM software it says "plug in Dell monitor first", and on the other hand on device manager it does not show it at all. When you put everything together its fishy

Monitors are plug & play ("PnP") which means they don't require drivers to operate. Some monitors may include some extra info like their name, but it's common for computers not to recognize that info sometimes. Regardless, it doesn't affect the operation of the monitor.

Well you cant install drivers, because there are no drivers for monitors.

did you insert the hdmi(or any other cable) into the graphics card?
There is nothing fishy going on...

^ this is its driver and DDM aplication, which I cant use because "I do not have an Dell/Alienware product".
Yeah I tried switching PC's and cables.

If that is the case, I'd really love that. Generally it seems like everything is ok, just not sure why dell's software can't recognize its own monitor. 🤷‍♂️
