I purchased a Dell Inspiron 5675 with a Dell labeled AMD RX580 GPU included. The specs on GPU-Z show it as having the same specs and bus speeds as the RX480. On HWINFO64 it shows AMD Radeon RX 580 [DELL], Polaris 10/Ellesmere XT, the Chipset 'AMD Radeon RX 480 Polaris 10/Ellesmere XT. Is Dell pulling a fast one here? How can I identify if this is truly an RX580 card?

Don't overthink this. A company like Dell isn't going to offer a fake product. GPU-Z has confirmed what you have. Sounds like the mystery is solved.

As previously mentioned, the RX580 is really (in a manner of speaking) a tweaked, slightly improved RX480. They belong in the same family of GPUs and the (likely) older hwmonitor database just doesn't reflect the most current info.
Dude, thats not at all the point here. The point is Dell as a "reputable" and highly successful and already wealthy business is purposely lying to their customers about what they are selling. They do not need to do this. I would have bought the system for the price I paid 950 at Best Buy if it was listed as a 480 knowing full well the spec's are just about identical but I'm pissed as hell they tried to fool me. They should know better as most pc gamers are also pc enthusiasts and would easily uncover such a scam. If your going to scam your customers into thinking something at least be good at doing it. I'm more insulted that they even tried... Honesty is very much important even if you don't care many of us do.

It may also be an honest mistake. I know I saw a youtube review where the guy was reviewing what he thought was a 580, but he'd accidentally picked up an RX 480. I guess he had both there, and said the ones he had looked identical to each other. So it's possible they accidentally picked one from the wrong stack? But essentially they are the same cards. It might be worth a call to Dell though if you've not done that already and see if they will trade it out or something.
