all these ultraportables (CULV) laptops have been beaten out... big time.

up till now, theres has been a disgusting premium on CULV laptops.

NOW, we have the acer timeline. a CULV laptop with all the bells and whistles, including LONGER battery life. for 1/3rd the price.

Infact, if you look into getting a timeline overseas, you can get one with a ATI 4330. which definately kicks the butt of all these CULV laptops with an intel gma 4500 in it.

ACER 3810TG. Hell of an ultraportable.

coming soon, ACER 1810T. just something to keep your eyes on.

yeah.. he's been chanting the acer line for a few threads now...

i don't see the purpose of these toys, but i guess someone has a need for a slow, very thin and fragile, portable computer...

[citation][nom]cabose369[/nom]So he likes $h!tty computers!!![/citation]
Do you really think Dell or HP computers are any better? From what I have seen, Acer tends to get higher ratings on customer satisfaction. They are like the Hyundai of computers, they once were cr@p, but have steadily improved to the point where they are commendable budget products. This is how companies form. Nikon and Canon, along with many other Japanese camera brands, used to be considered junk. Photographers used to buy primarily from Leica and Zeiss. Look at where Nikon and Canon are now, and where Leica and Zeiss have fallen. More recently, look at Japanese automobiles. They used to be considered low end junk. Who thinks that now? Things change.

One big thing with Acer is that they don't load very many 3rd party applications onto their systems compared to HP or Dell. This isn't really a problem if you're tech savvy and reinstall a clean operating system on your computer the second you get it out of the box. But for the average consumer, performance on a Dell or HP feels much slower than a similarly specced Acer.

As for the Adamo, still way to expensive for not very much power.

Yea, you know they did it because Apple dropped the price of the Macbook air, and if you're more expensive than Apple something is seriously wrong.

It's expensive to make a product that competes directly with Apple...maybe Apple's products aren't quite as overpriced as everyone thinks they are.
