i got a dell e6540 and it runs decently cool when underclocked but under load it gets pretty high up in the temp range before the fan goes faster but by that time the cpu gets downclocked to 300 mhz till you shut down the application ..
i want to run the cpu fan at 100% always (even idle) and i know you cant do this on software dell has a power manager that allows you to make it run a bit more actively but barely any difference . and it broke in windows 10 (undervolting also stopped working in 10 so i'm stuck at the default speeds of this really powerfull cpu/gpu combo)
what would it take to make the fan (by hardware modding) always run 100%?
dissconecting the fans sense pins wouldnt work since the laptop wil complain about no fan but wil boot without a fan
i'm quite experienced with modding hardware but since this is my personal laptop i want some more information to how to pull this off.
thanks alot in advance

Solution
All you would need is the fans rated voltage. Locate somewhere on the board you can steal that voltage from and run a wire to it.

Certainly software solutions out there that would be simpler though. SpeedFan is a possibility.
