For those who are rooting against the Dell, I hate to rain on your parade but I'd like to inform you that this fine does not stand a chance in the court of law. This $30,000 fine is for a firm which did direct harm to customers' being or wealth. I don't see either is the case here unless not-being-taken-advantage-of counts one.
Dell made a mistake, like Amazon.com did in 2003 when they sold $1,049 worth of tv for $99.99, or Kodak sold 329 pounds camera for 100 pounds in 2001. Though incompetent and stupid, Dell Taiwan did have a clause to inform customers that the contract is not binding until they were contacted by sales rep. I don't think Dell Taiwan would lose in the legal front. However, they did lose their reputation, if there ever was any, among Taiwan residential customers.
And there won't be any job opening for an online product and price administrator. The reason they made such a mess is that they don't have a single one in Taiwan. All the Dell Taiwan website contents are maintained in Maylasia or Singapore, I know it's one of these two countries but forgot which.
