We ordered a Dell Inspiron 23.8" All-in-One, Model i5420-7166WHT-PUS, from Costco (Black Friday deal).

It says, in the specs, that it comes with a 1TB 5400 HDD and a 256GB CL35 Solid State Drive. Will the SSD have the operating system on it? Should I replace the HDD with an SSD or is this configuration usual and ok?

If you have any opinions of Dell let me know. Haven't owned one before. Our grandkids wanted an all-in-one with a large screen and they have limited space. They like a little bigger keyboard and the mouse.
Specs are at https://www.costco.com/dell-inspiron-23.8"-all-in-one-touchscreen-desktop---13th-gen-intel-core-i7-1355u---1080p---windows-11.product.4000139316.html

Let me know your thoughts and any tips.

Will the OS be on the 256GB SSD? Probably.

Should you change the HDD for a similar size SSD? Probably. I would.
Do you think the Samsung below would be a good choice? Would I see a performance boost?

SAMSUNG 870 EVO SATA III SSD 1TB 2.5” Internal Solid State Drive, Upgrade PC or Laptop Memory and Storage for IT Pros, Creators, Everyday Users, MZ-77E1T0B/AM

And thank you for your response!

I would prefer the 860 EVO vs the 870.
Or, the Crucial MX500.

Either will work.
