Hi,

I recently purchased a used Dell Inspiron 3670 PC having with the following specs:

CPU: Intel i5-8600
RAM: 32GB
GPU: AMD Radeon rx 550
PSU: 290W Dell Proprietary

I just upgraded the PSU to a non-modular CORSAIR 650W (model: cx650) with the aim of upgrading the GPU.

I have watched various videos in you tube on possible GPU Upgrades but they usually go as far as upgrading to a nvidia GeForce GTX 1660.

I want to upgrade to a more recent GPU and I am aiming AMD medium priced cards specifically due to lower prices compared to nvidia and comparable performance. I am also concerned about the GPU dimensions due to space constraints as the 3670 case is small.

The list of GPUs which I am currently aiming at:

AMD Radeon rx 6600
AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT

Has anybody upgraded their Dell Inspiron 3670 GPU to any post 2020 AMD GPU? What is their experience? What would you suggest?

Thank you

This PSU;

? I hope you're using an adapter/harness that adapts he connector on your PSU to work with the proprietary connector on the prebuilt motherboard.

Why are you in need of a GPU upgrade? Gaming at 1080p? What sort of a budget have you set aside for your GPU purchase? You might want to add a rear fan to the case to aid with thermals.

Your case will impede a lot of your off-the-shelf options.

Thanks for the reply.

I used a 24pin to 8pin adapter to connect the PSU to the proprietary motherboard. Yes, the one you are referring to is the PSU.

As I recently bought a 1080p gaming monitor, I would like to play games released during the last 5 years at higher fps.

I have a budget of approx. 250 EUR for the new GPU.
