Dell laptop screen

Hey my dell laptop screen will cut on but it's so dim what do I do?
I cut it on and it show's it a little bit but I can't see anything

Either the backlight is dead or the LCD cable is faulty. It's almost always one of those two things - worst case is it's a motherboard issue.
