Dell E5430 Hardware user guide.
Follow the directions on Dis-assembly of your PC.
Next you will need Thermal Compound, and I highly recommend a Thermal Paste removal kit to clean the surface of your heatsink/fan assembly.
Dell provides what is called a "Chem PaD" by Chemtronics when changing heatsinks/cpus. It is a pre-moistened wipe saturated with Alcohol [Isopropanol (67-63-0) and Deionized water (7732-18-5)] Please note it is highly flamable and a skin irritant, so you should use protective gloves and never use around a heat source or open flame of any kind.
Get yourself a magnetic tray to keep from loosing screws, and be sure to get a #1 Phillips Screw driver to remove screws with, and a plastic scribe to use as a prying tool for the keyboard bezel and Touchpad assembly. Using Scotch Tape is also a handy way of not loosing your screws. If you find your screw driver doesn't seem to grab the screws very well, you may need to file off about 0.75mm of the end of your screw driver. This will allow you to firmly connect with the screws and prevent stripping. (I make these tools on a regular basis for Dell notebook toolkits)
If you have a Smartphone, Video record the process as you disassemble the PC, this will allow you to remember where each screw goes when you put it back together. If you don't have a Video recorder, Dell marks Screw locations with little Triangle arrows, and numbers ie: 5x3, 5x5 5x8, this refers to the width and length of the screws that show go in those holes. DO NOT USE THE WRONG SCREWS. DO NOT FORCE A SCREW IF IT WILL NOT THREAD. Check for allignment of a threaded hole before you damage a component. These screw holes are very difficult to repair, sometimes impossible.
When installing your CPU, DO NOT FORCE the CPU into the socket, you may bend the pins. There is an Alignment Marker on each CPU and Motherboard CPU socket to help you align the CPU correctly.
Good Luck with your upgrade. I hope this helps.
