Hi i am having a Dell latitude E5450 laptop and it was purchased on 2015. Its battery was charging only sometimes and sometimes not charging while plugging. So initially thought it is problem with charger or battery. But after taking battery out and tested the laptop , it is turning off after sometimes. May be after 10 or 20 min , it is turning off and restarting . Sometimes it is doing this after 2 to 3 minutes and it depends. Initially after turning on the laptop fan is running and then after that fan is stopping and then normal booting process takes. Is there any rule like fan should be continuously on ? Also is there any chance that this is an issue with charging jack? Everything i la working smooth when it is functioning, but restart process is annoying.

Solution
Did you open the system up to clean it out and re-do the thermal paste on the CPU heatsink? If not, do that first. A clean Windows setup is also a good idea.
Only one time i got the error "your system automatically powered off because it became warmer than expected, this may have been caused by
1. Operating or storing the system in an environment where ambient temperature is too high

2. Onstructing airflow from system fan vents

If problem recurs ,.please call Dell support with error code #M1004

Please note other occassions ,i got above error only one time.
