Question Dell Latitude e6410 automatically turns off when a hard drive is inserted.

I dissembled my laptop about an hour ago. I took unscrewed the cooler and re-seated the CPU. After I was done I re-screwed everything and started the laptop without the hard drive. But then when I put the hard drive in and press the power button it lights up along with the keyboard lights and then cuts off after a few seconds. If anyone knows what this is, please tell me. I've tried re seating the CPU a second time, I've also tried inserting the drive upside down. Nothing seems to work. The computer will boot without the drive, but with it, it won't boot at all

That sounds like an indication of a bad drive. Can you get your hands on a spare, install that and test again?

It was working perfectly before. I don't know what happened. And I don't have any spare drives. I have a desktop drive. That's it.

Components can work one day and not the next. It happens all the time. Your next step would be to buy a replacement drive and install Windows onto it. Unless the issue comes up again with a replacement, you can pretty much chalk it up as the current drive being faulty.
