The i5 6500 is a far better chip. Both are based on the same architecture, but the i5 is clocked 100mhz higher but has 4 cores instead of 2 cores + HT, and 6mb of cache instead of 3mb.
Possibly, but I'm not sure why you'd want to. I don't think the 3040 ships with anything less than an i5, so the Pentium would be a huge downgrade?
EDIT: I'm fairly certain it has a 1xx chipset, maybe H110, so it should support 7th gen chips such as the Pentium so long as Dell has provided an updated BIOS that adds support for them.
Check with Dell and see if they have provided a BIOS with updated CPU support.
Why are you selling it, if you don't mind my asking? It has a latest-gen socket and should support a Skylake i7 if you felt you needed that performance.
I already check from dell website . Its support 6gent cpu .
My bro doesnt want to use it anymore . So he gave it to me . I want to use i5 6500 in my gaming rig . So i want swap my g4560 with i5 6500 . And sell the dell pc to upgrade my rig . Do u prefer g4560 or i5 6500 for my gaming rig ?
