Dell Optiplex 755 Power Supply

These units use a specially designed small form factor supply "SFF" measuring 8.9 x 6.3 x 4.8 inches. There are no direct aftermarket upgrades available, the closest are SFX supplies which are around 3.94 X 2.5 x4.92. For this you would need to make a Custom Mounting bracket and clearance behind the Optical drive might be tight. It also changes how the case vents so heat could be a issue.

OK, after looking through the forum these guys have similar Dells that I have.

So how do they have higher PSUs?

In the other threads they have the mini tower with 305 watt PSU. It's bigger than yours and has some room inside and some upgradability. The 275 watt PSU you have comes in the SFF, small form factor. It has proprietary PSU and board, low profile slots etc...everything is squeezed down smaller to fit the little case. You may be able to increase the memory and add a low profile video card that the PSU can handle but that's about it. What do you expect when you buy a tiny little pc?
