Dell Optiplex 780 + GTX 1050

all i wanna know is if a GTX 1050o(OC) will fit in a dell optiplex 780. AND YES IK THE DELL OPTIPLEX 780 only has 230w psu BUT WILL IT FIT IN.

Yes if it is a mini tower. If it is small form factor you must get a low profile card, like the msi gtx 1050 lp.

I would ot be so sure. I have one myself, and the Dell have their own custom build cabinet - the cpu cooling fan is actually a piece of the cabinet itself, and I suspect it may get in conflict if a PCIe 16x card is too big in size.

Before buying I recommend to tace precise measurements of both cabinet inside and the graphic card too and see if it actually fit. Just be aware of the risc of static electrisity when doing measurement - aways be grounded.

There are 4 different sizes of Optiplex 780. With a 230W PSU you must have one of the SFF, or USFF sizes. The USFF has no expansion slots. The SFF needs a low profile card. You have a few options. Since you asked about the 1050 I will go into that first.
All the low profiles 1050s are 2 slots wide due to a hard mounted DVI slot, and also 2 slot wide cooling solutions. They won't fit unless you're willing to do some modding. The HDD tray is in the way. A laptop 2.5" HDD, or SSD can provide some room there. You will need to cut the back of the case for the DVI connector, and trim the GPU bracket also. I would suggest cut the case, and try the card w/o the bracket to see if it works for warranty reasons before modding the bracket.
The older Low Profile 750Ti had a removable VGA connector on a cable that could be left off or moved behind the card. GTX1030 can be found that fit also.
I think it's worth doing.
