Question Dell Optiplex 9020 will not post just got a new motherboard as well.

in the video you can see that it amber blinks orange, not sure if the first blink counts but if it does the sequence is 1,3,2 then repeats or 3,2 which ever one. I’ve looked at the dell website and it says that 1,3,2 is a ram issue and I’ve tried all 4 sticks one at a time; Not sure if all of them are bad? 3,2 would be my gpu not working but the fans spin. I took out the cmos battery for a bit. I just got the master cooler 212 and it fits okay. New ram sticks wouldn’t be a bad buy but I think it’s unlikely that all four don’t work. I’ve been had the gpu since 2 motherboards before, gtx 1050 2gb. Never failed to not work.

Yes, it was working before, I wish I remembered the codes the other motherboard was telling me but I’m pretty sure it was the same. Maybe I should try the old one again and see if it boots? Don’t think it would work. Wish I had a little testing bench for the parts. Can you check this photo to see if the small space that is a bit lifted needs to be more pushed down and secure. It looks like there is a small capacitor in the way that you can’t see in the photo.

Also other video of the pins on my 1050 seem a bit damaged, it’s always looked like this though and would work fine.

Thing is I’ve used it before. On the older motherboards and they worked fine.

As I said I wish I knew the old motherboard amber code but of course I don’t. Check this out though I think I may have put more than enough thermal paste. 🤦🏽‍♂️

That is a Dell Power Supply, it looks like it is meant to be with 12 volt only systems. Did you check for compatibility between the card and the system?

There are more than enough bolts to go to the gpu at least I think, the card has worked for 2 previous motherboards.

Nothing is making sense at this point I might just buy a replacement psu.

at this point it may be less expensive to buy another used optiplex on ebay or something, and scavenge parts in order to find the culprit. but it's probably the PSU since you tested everything else
