Where can i get a 5 pin adapter?
I wanna replace the PSU but i know of no PSU with a 5 pin on it, i bought a rgb power supply i wanna put in but it does not have a 5 pin on it how can i make this work?

Solution
Yes, a lot of Dells need that adapter. Dell has a tendency to use OK power supplies, but they tend to have proprietary connections.

Please be very careful if you're connecting a new power supply and make sure you know what each port does first. You're quite lucky that there's nothing really that would work in that HDD/optical drive port; if your PSU happened to have an unrelated connector of that configuration, there's a high chance you already would have fried your PC.

What is the exact model of Dell Optiplex we're talking about here?

Your explanation of what exactly you're trying to do here is confusing. A GPU would connect to the motherboard insertion to the PCIE slot and the power cables would go from the power supply to the power supply connectors on the GPU itself. There's no part of installing a GPU that would have a cable going from the GPU into the motherboard directly.

That connector has nothing to do with the GPU. It's a proprietary connector that connects to the five-pin socket on the motherboard on one end and provides the SATA power for the hard drive and optical disk drive on the other end.

Your motherboard layout can be found on page 29 of the PDF at this link:

i meant psu not gpu sorry,
it has nothing to do with the gpu.

the 5 pin plug is from the psu connecting to the 5 pin port on the mobo, i cant find a adapter for a 5 pin for the psu to connect to the mobo 5 pin port.
is it not strange to see a 5 pin on a psu? i never saw one before lol.

the pics is from the stock psu 5 pin and the mobo 5 pin port
I thought this would be tricky to figure out even for the most experienced computer person.
Any help is much appreciated and thanks so far! :) keep it coming because im at a lost scratching my head at this.

i would assume but im not sure thats why im here asking i guess i could try it and see and report back.
Update: it does not need to be plugged in the 5 pin port but i do need a 24 pin to 8 pin adapter for it to work :)
