[SOLVED] Dell Poweredge 6850 and Server 2012

HI I have a Dell PE6850 that im trying to get server 2012 or 2016 installed.
I know they are not realy supported but have seen post from people who says thay are running 2012 on this server
Try'd upgrading to 2016 directly from 2008 R2 but I get a prefetchw error saying my cpu does not support it even though the cpu states that it does
Also try'd to upgrade to 2012 but gives error on restart after showing windows logo

This might be a tough one if you can't get past the install.

You could try installing it on an sata drive and controller that you put in the system. Then you can installed the 2016 drivers for the controller and then image the install to a native volume so it wouldn't need to install drivers during the install. I had to do something similar to get an older windows version to install on my 2950.

I think the blue screen is because there is not a 2016 storage driver for the volume.
