have you noticed that now that the i3's and i5's are out, the i7's are getting more expensive, like, a laptop that you could get the i7 in, now comes with an i3 and to get the i7, they are charging more...

Time to wait...

"and this is why i love to shop asus" why are you even making a comparison when this is mostly an article to promote the fact that they are offering usb 3 and i7 in a laptop. Of course this is going to be expensive. why do people act like dell doesn't offer other laptops. You can get a Vostro 1015 with a T6570 for $499 right now and I sure wouldn't have much to say about that price! Who else is matching that price I would like to know? Besides, Asus is anti linux while Dell is trying to bring Linux to the world.

The Intel "T" series processors are a few generations old and should be pulled from the market...

I see these people at the retail stores looking at "cheap" laptops and then I see the Intel T(something) and move on.

I remember when the T6600 was the king of the hill and really pricey.

Imagine, they are still trying to sell T4000 series processors, consumers are not educated on what they are really getting for their hard earned dollar, euro, etc...

Apple or this Dell? Nah. I'll pass on both.

I'd rather use $1000 on a more powerful rig (though less mobile but hey, just get a netbook anyway). The rest.. well, I can do a lot with that. :)

To everyone complaining about the price: It doesn't matter on this machine.
I've got last years model with a core 2 extreme that added almost a grand to the price tag. Big deal. It's got about $50k worth of software on it. If your doing serious work, the price is peanuts compared to salaries and software of the people using it. Oh, and on the weekends, the Nvidia 2700m plays games just fine at 1920*1200 on a 23".
