[SOLVED] Dell Precision T5500 GPU Upgrades

I have a Dell Precision T5500 with an R9 270 GPU. I would like to upgrade my GPU for gaming purposes (1080p, Ultra settings, latest AAA games). However due to the age of this PC (over 10+ years old now), I do not know which GPUs may be compatible, so I was wondering if those who have upgraded their T5500's GPU successfully, which GPU they have upgraded to so that I may have an idea what to buy (Forget about budget).

That would depend on your processor, but in my opinion that system is just not worth upgrading.

Even the top model cpu used in that system has about the same performance as the Pentium G5400 (2018) which is considered weak for today's standards.

That workstation already seems to be on its limit.

Be sure you have the latest BIOS and chipset drivers installed. RX570 is reported to work. Just about anything Nvidia also. AMD changed their cards a lot right after the R9 270 series so be sure and update. X5687 is a nice 4c/8t CPU for those, or the 6c/12t x5690.
