Dell announced that it would begin selling Meta 2 Augmented Reality developer kits next month. The company wants to make AR more accessible and plans to offer the Meta 2 headset with and without bundled computers.

The point about Dell selling it with their computers is key - unlike Hololens, this is not standalone. Sounds like it has SLAM inside-out tracking, but you'll have to pair it with a VR backpack (or a high-end laptop in a backpack).
