Hi. I`m between this two monitors and I cant decide which should I take. Maybe you guys have some experience with one of this to displays? Which one would you recommend to buy?

If you are using it for everything then you should go with Dell.
Better overall :)
The only thing the Yimama has over the Dell is a faster response time, but its not a big deal.
Go with Dell :)

Really?? Well you can read the specifications.. good for you!

So you come to post on a forum just to make sarcastic remarks?
Sad...

Ok, there is no point to create a new thread about this and I have exactly the same question.

Any informed advice? (please, refrain from saying "dell is better" because dell, I'd like actual arguments).

Given that I can get the Iiyama for 176€ (139.36£ = 223.70$) and the Dell for 230 (181.42£ = 290.86$), which one would you get for multipurpose with a bigger enphasis on movie/game immersion? (aka good colors, good blacks, good smoothnes/fluidity +decent capabilities for ocassional online fps and casual photo edition).

Would you recommend something completelly different? (on this price range that is)

OH, well if I can recommend something it will be the Asus ve278q. When you're looking for a good monitor keep in mind:

-response time max: 5ms
-colour depth: 16,7 million colours
-refresh rate: 60/120/144 Herz
-dynamic contrast ratio min: 1000000:1
-TN panel (if you play competirive)
-IPS panel (if you play for the experience)

This is the one that will do the job!
Still a best seller, very reliable, and I have no complaints with it personally.

Cheers

Well, the Iiyama is neither TN nor IPS, it's a AMVA+ monitor, which is supposed to be superior in everything but response time to TNs and in everything but color reproduction and viewing angles to IPSs (and not very far behind).

The Asus ve278q is a TN pannel, and I have left TNs directly out of my search since I value immersion more than competition and the only advantage TNs have over IPS and VA is response time (the colors, the contrast and the viewing angles are awful compared to the other two), so my search is mostly between AMVA (better blacks, usually faster, very good colors and more than decent viewing angles) and IPS (best colors, best viewing angles, acceptable blacks, slowest response time and awful bleeding/glow).

Hence my doubt, the Iiyama being a very good AMVA pannel that costs only 175€ and the Dell being an IPS pannel for 230. The Iiyama seems to be a much better option, even without considering the price difference, but I have never tryed them so I was after informed opinions.
