meaning no one in commercial operation uses the imac laptop

It will be typical dell people dont get excited.

Base config = $500

Usable config (Core 2 Duo, more than 2gb ram, and hd > 160gb, plus other things you would think would be standard to begin with) = $1000

Low start price and then azz rape you on the most basic of upgrades.

why is it that PC laptops have such lousy processors? take a look at apple, they have from 2.4GHz all the way to 3.06GHz processors in their machines

They have up to 3.06 GHz core 2's in their Macbook Air, the closest thing to this? Didn't think so. Please don't try again.

There's more to CPU than speed...
Besides, for what you pay for a Mac, you can get a windows laptop with a more powerful processor.

hmmm let's see Apple's $500 laptop with a high-end processor? Oh wait! They don't have a $500 laptop!
If you look at PC Laptops that cost as much as the Apple would see better processors. Heck you can get a top of the line Alienware Laptop for less than the top of the line Mac Book Pro with change left over for upgrades.

hey, some of you are debating price - you should google refurbished dell laptops - you'd be surprised at the prices and reasonable shipping - particularly you guys in Canada and Oz.

LOL, i love how everyone compares this to the Apple Macbook air... That came out 3 years ago... WOW... thanks for catching up and bringing a less expensive laptop to the market, but innovative, no... 3 years ago I would have agreed. Also when it comes to specs, don't compare the two because the macbook has the Nvidia 9400M which runs circles around the integrated intel crap, and it had it a year ago... YAWN... Can Dell please bring something a bit more innovative ahead of everyone else... The same could be said about the Adamo, poor graphics card choice...
