Dell xps 8500 trying to switch to onboard graphics

So I think my graphics card on my dell 8500 i5 version died, and as a result I want to switch the computer to use integrated graphics. So I took the graphics card out and plugged the vga into the motherboard's vga output. When I did this my monitor behaved like there was no video input. Any help?

You'll need to re-enable the integrated graphics on the motherboard in order for it to show the display again.

That, or you could look up online on how to enable the integrated graphics (most likely by resetting the motherboard entirely) and that should also fix it.

Go into the bios. There is a graphics setting that allows you to enable integrated graphics again. From there, just save and quit and you should be golden.
