Hello, I would like to know if a Dell XPS 8500 would be able to run a very high-performance graphics card? Maybe not this, but will it run the $1000 GTX Titan? Maybe it's ridiculous, maybe its not xD.

Solution
Any standard ATX PSU will fit, but they are all not created equal. I linked you to a good quality PSU. Corsair is fine as long as you stay away from the CX series. The One I Linked to is also a Modular, which is nice as you have a lot of unused cables to deal with in there.

So your saying it can handle the monster looking GTX Titan? Haha. I'm gonna have to get a new psu for that too obviously right?

Oh, stupid me. The problem is, I don't even have the XPS 8500 yet, I'm typing from the cruddy OptiPlex GX620, and once the capacitors go out on this thing, I'm getting the XPS or another one. I just want to make sure the Titan can handle and/or fit inside the XPS 8500, and if not I'm looking at another PC.

What about when I receive it to upgrade to the GTX680?

Thanks for showing this to me. It looks like a very good card for gaming - which is what I'm looking for. When I get the XPS, would you recommend a PSU upgrade? I'm thinking of getting an 850W Corsair brand PSU if it is needed.

I have that Corsair in here, but this one is more than plenty, a good quality PSU, and will save you some money: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151132

Thank you for all your support. I will keep tabs on everything you've showed me. Just to maybe clarify, to find out if a graphics card will fit in a pc, is it the depth of the PC? What would you think of the XPS 8700? http://www.dell.com/us/p/xps-8700/pd?oc=fdcwgx310&model_id=xps-8700 I still get the running feeling by me to get the Titan, or the GTX690.

Ok, will the GTX 760 fit in the XPS 8700? If that's the case, what will be the psu that will fit in the xps 8700, work in the xps 8700, and have the right connectors for the XPS & the GPU?

First, It will most likely require a different PSU than what comes as OEM in there, in which case, you will have the connectors you need. I had a Mini Tower eMachines that I gave my Sister and I had put a 9" card in it. As I remember, I may have been able to go to 9.5", but not entirely sure as it has been quite awhile since I was in that thing. The GTX is 9.5" in length. Any standard ATX PSU will fit in the case. With Dell, they used to be propriatary and that created all sorts of problems.

Look at all those. The GPU you showed me, a PSU from CoolerMaster, and the XPS 8700 I'm looking to get, the dimensions are there. What do you think??

First, this PSU will do just fine and save you a couple of dollars : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151119 It is a Modular PSU, which means you just use the cables you need and don'y have all the extra stuff cluttering up the inside the case. Helps with airflow too. As to the Video card, the one that comes with it, is only about 8.5 inches long. The card you want is an inch longer. It may or may not fit.

In that case should I get the XPS 8500 instead which has the 660 in it which is 9.5 in length which is the same size as the one I want to get, which you just told me the gtx 760 is 9.5. And then I get the psu you showed me. How about that??

Thats good I guess I'll invest my money in the XPS, and the GTX 760. Should I put in the power supply for the one you showed me or can I put any power supply, like Corsair PSU for example, and it will fit in the PC??
