I just bought a used Dell XPS L502X and the previous owner apparently re-installed the system to remove his personal information, according to the previous owner the USB ports were fine before the re-install.
Currently I plug things into the USB ports and there is no response from the system whatsoever.
On the Device Manager there are error notifications under Other Devices and both SM Bus Controller and Unknown Device.
I ran the full Dell Diagnostics from the Dell site, no errors found.
Is this an issue with things being installed in the incorrect order or something more 'fun'?
I also cannot enter Setup (accessed via F2 at startup) due to it requiring a password and the previous owner not knowing what setup was or what bios is.
