Will a Dell XPS mobo swap into a Thermal Chaser MK-1?

The case is Mini ATX, and ATX compatible

The Dell XPS motherboard is model 05DN3X

- Also will I have any connector issues?

Yes all though dell for a long time made ugly btx motherboards, yours seems to be normal atx with no special mounting holes for the stand offs and screws. So go buy your case

So no connector issues?

Already have the case :) I basically bought it for more room for my Cooler Master v6 GT (Does NOT fit in dell xps 9100 and better cooling. Everything had been upgraded on it but the Mobo and i7 930 - I don't have any problems gaming using my MSI GTX 670 Power Edition

Thank you. Right after you said that I swapped over the mobo, and installed cooler master v6 gt.

Everything is going great. Quick question that I was going to personally look at, but when it boots up it says "front USB not connected" in bios

Doesn't seem to cause anything to go wrong. I test from USB and it all works.

That is just something that all dell motherboards seem to do, kinda annoying but it's basically just saying that because you have your motherboard in an after market case

I was very close to dropping some money on a asus Maximus motherboard today but I really have no issues with mine, and my i7 is a 1366 - I really don't want to jump sockets and pick up the bill of a 350 dollar i7

To me this particular motherboard was ahead of its time and really has been great for compatibility across the board. What are your thoughts on it?

Oh and when I was installing I found the wonderful letters ATX on the mobo. Made me laugh.

I do appreciate your quick response. I was anxious. CPU dropped 12+ degrees. GPU dropped 5-6 degrees.

CPU now idles in the 30s and GPU at a solid 32

Ad adding in 2 more 200mm fans. (Side and top)

It's a fairly good motherboard you might be stuck with an older chipset with older features and are unable to use any of the newer processors but it still is a very good expandable motherboard one of the things that I liked the most about the first gen i'7s and sandy bridge was their amount of ram slots they had on pretty much all mid/high end motherboards. You probably would want to consider an upgrade sometime within the next 6 months if you have the money for it, but other than maybe missing some fps in some games especially if you play something that is cpu intensive like an mmorpg you would see some benefit from a newer processor with newer features high clocks. Your motherboard and processor should still be able to not bottleneck even some of the newest gpu's.... So I would just consider a upgrade sometime within the next 6 months when you feel like you have the money. Like I would upgrade on a budget a z87 motherboard would be great or on a more high end budget would be something like a ivry bridge-E processor with a 2011 socket. but for the now your current system is great but in the future if you do seek some more performance I would consider upgrading.

Current Specs:

Thermtake chaser mk1
I7 930
Cooler master v6 gt
Corsair 750tx
MSI GTX 670 OC POWER EDITION
128 ssd, 1tb hd
12 GB ram (yes I have 6 slots lol but I run triple channel.)
Sound blaster lol

... To me I get like 200 fps in high end games on ultra.

I turn vsync on in bf3 and tomb raider, and gw2

I built this pc to my likings. I have the money to get the mobo, but I'm a perfectionist in a sense that when I do I'll have to go with a high end k series i7... Possibly something 6 cores.

Also tonight was the first time I've done a complete swap and the only issue i had was dropping the cm v6 gt screw from the bracket behind the mobo lol. I literally turned the computer upside down to get it out.

All of that stuff couldn't breath in a xps 9100 case. I even added extra custom fans in the case, but it was at its air flow limit for all that hardware.
