I restarted my computer after cleaning and defragging and when it came on and logged in my desktop folders were all gone except for recycle bin, steam and a few others, surprisingly my background is still there.
I then noticed that a lot of icons were just white rectangles with the corner folded. I went into my computer to check if my documents were there, they were all gone pictures and all.
The side panel didn't have desktop on it either.
I checked my program files, they're still there. I also double checked the users files, and happily saw all of my documents and desktop was there, but i don't want to go through my computer or make shortcuts every time, when i put something new on my desktop it will disappear on reboot.
Tried solutions: Folder options - I made sure they were unhidden.
What i think: I think it is a registry issue or worst case scenario a virus...
If anyone knows how to fix this it would be highly appreciated...
