Desktop build issues

So I'm having ALOT of issues with my desktop build
my USBs are no longer working
the desktop powers on SOMETIMES
I've gotten bios error screens and all kinds of problems but i don't understand why all my parts are new save for the old laptop parts and my temp graphics card till i can afford the one i want tho my desktop did run with and without it just fine here is my build and ask me questions to help me please

Case: Rosewill Ranger-M
PSU: Antec VP-450
Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-M LX PLUS
GPU: ATI Radeon x1800
Processor: AMD FX 8320
RAM: CRUCIAL 4GB DDR3 1600 MTs
Old laptop hard drive and 2 old desktop hard drives
old laptop wireless card + adapter
and old laptop CD/DVD drive + usb adapter

Whay drive is the OS on?
Is it a new/fresh OS install?
Old drives *may* no longer be good,
they may not have failed, but one could be on its way out.
With that mix of parts, do you have all the right drivers?

i was using the old laptop hard drive os windows 7 so i could install linux but it has been working right and the old hard drives work great on anything else so its no that plus my usb is no longer working which i need to install linux

A laptop HP/OS will almost always NEVER work in a desktop, totally different drivers & hardware.
Even the USB drivers most likely different. More than likely that is causing your issues.

well i had it working for a bit then shut it down to find out how to intsall linux yada yada so i could use that instead of windows but then i started it back up ready to go and now the usbs dont work so the disk driver i have cant be read so how can i get the usbs to work again so i can install linux i tried removing the battery and all kinds of other basic troubleshooting that i found and still nothing not even the case usbs work

The usb's 'should' work/be recognized by the bios (before the OS boots) do they?

doesn't seem like it i got a screen a few times and it was checking some stuff but it said it read my keyboard ps2 and my mouse ps2 but said 00 usbs recognized

and its not turning on anymore the light on the graphics card is on and the motherboard light is on but it wont turn on ive tried to unplug and replug stuff in but nothing

On the motherboard, take out the CMOS battery (Round battery, probably labeled CR2032 - or something close), 1st disconnect the power & push the start battery to 'de charge' everything, leave out the battery for about 1 minute. Put it back in, disconnect the HD's and any other laptop part & see if the system post & you can get to the bios.

still nothing just the green motherboard light i have nothing else connected except the psu (now after trying your idea) the RAM and the processor but its still not powering on

Edit: Just assembled out of the case with the exact same issue i just dont understand what my problem is

Right now w/ the issues your having I'm leaning towards the mobo being bad. I would RMA it back to ASUS.
