Desktop Can No Longer Discover Wifi

Hey there everyone, I'm sure people have heard about this problem before, but mine seems a bit strange.

My desktop computer, which runs on windows 7, has some rather annoying habits when it comes to the internet. My Mac Book (which I am using right now to write this message) works like a dream on the same wifi and never has any problems. But the desktop is always throwing me off and having shockingly bad connections.

Now things have gone from bad to worse, my desktop will not even discover the wifi anymore. It won't appear on the list in the corner task bar, i've tried going into it's properties but it says "device is working properly", I've also checked all the drivers are up to date on the card and the router, and I've also reset my computer numerous times.
What really annoys me though is that through all of that the Mac Book is still connected to the same network perfectly fine...

Rather annoying, so if anyone has any ideas then it'd be greatly appreciated. But please try and keep the lingo to a minimum because even though I know a fair amount about computers and can follow instructions easily, networking isn't one of my strong points (as you can probably tell)

Cheers very much for any help
