Desktop froze black screen

My desktop froze when i was using it so when i restarted it, it showed a bunch of dollar signs then when it loaded to starting

you won the bitcoin lotto.... j/k... that your video card having an issue. turn the pc off open the case check that the gpu fan not stop with dust. if the rig dusty blow it out and reseat the video card. if it locks up again or errors out like that again the gpu over heated and a part failed and the gpu needs to be replaced.

Or it might be the monitor itself. Test with another monitor if you have or can borrow one.
