This morning when I booted up my desktop, I found that all my icons shifted to the left onto a second monitor. I have three monitors, and each has its own GPU.

system: Intel i7-3970 CPU @ 3.50 GHz
64 kB RAM
x64 OS
Monitors: ASUS PG278Q set at 2560 x 1440 with refresh rate @ 144 HZ
GPUs: NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN (three of them)
O.S. Windows 10 Pro

Any thoughts on why this happened and how I can correct this, other than moving each icon to the monitor they were on before this incident?

Thank you!

I did that too. From left to right: 3,2,1. 2 is the center screen and my "main display" All my icons moved to #3 monitor except for two of them. These two were on monitor #1 and moved to monitor #2.
All the icons moved to the left, by one monitor.

Open up Display Settings, then see which pane is the main monitor. Chances are that the GPU drivers were updated or reinstalled, would be worth check to see what version of Nvidia's control panel you're on at this moment of time.
So I just tried making #3 monitor the main monitor and all my icons switched to monitor #2. I then reset monitor #2 to be the main monitor and all the icons shifted to monitor # 3. The furthest monitor to the left.
