[SOLVED] Desktop icons suddenly disappeared during HDMI hookup to TV

Hi all,

I have the relatively new LG OLED ThinQ that I use to connect my MSI Raider 75 to via HDMI. I've had zero problems until tonight:

All of a sudden, the desktop itself shows up on the TV but not any of the icons, browser or any games I fire up. I'm completely befuddled by this and wonder if it has something to do with the TV's recent addition of GSync compatibility.

Please help!

If the icons and apps all show up on your laptop's screen then it's possible you've got extended display running off the GPU/OS platform. Which version of Windows 10 are you working with and which version of BIOS are you on for your laptop?
