[SOLVED] Desktop icons wide and taskbar buttons huge

After a restart, Windows 10 sometimes does this thing where the desktop icons are not in narrow columns along the left side of the desktop, where I placed them, but rather are in VERY wide columns. Also, when I open an app the taskbar button is huge/wide, each taking up about 1/3 of the entire taskbar space (instead of about 1" wide). Any idea why this happens and how to stop it? Thank you.

Most likely guess is you changed the default video settings or have multiple monitors you swap around.

Would help if you listed some details about the system and when this started, anything that was changed/added/removed/etc... before the issue started?

Looks like monitor' resolution mismatch...

When this happens: Click on empty spce on the desktop, and do <Ctrl>-<mouse scroll up/down>; does it change icons size?
