I used to have a
mini-atx MSI military grade motherboard with an LGA 2011 socket, I don't know it's exact name. upgraded to Asus Z170 gaming pro
- CPU was (dunno if i5 or i7)3930k upgraded to i7-6700k
-new RAM is Corsair 16 GB LPX 2x8GB 3200 Mhz (is detected as 2200 Mhz thou) (my A1 and A2 DIMMS don't POST, but B1 and B2 do)
I installed everything just according to the manual, followed videos on how to assemble the heatsink(hyper 212x) , no leaks whatsoever.
I have 4 drives, 2 SSDs (1 is the system/OS drive) and 2 HDDs.
I did a fresh install of windows after formating my OS drive, but my computer runs even slower than before, my Graphic card is a gtx 1080
650 watt power supply with bronze cert. I have a 4 monitor build, and it used to work so great with my old motherboard and CPU.
I've been reading threads around the forum with no solution.. help please..

edit: i7-6700k not 6700 and older one is 3930k
edit 2: PC hangs and freezes alot more than usual, it feels like I'm running an overheated laptop, but CPU temperature is 28-32 degrees C
Edit 3: I updated BIOS to latest version, which was released a month ago
Edit 4: it doesn't even boot at all now, tried the ram in all slots, tried putting both, and tried each individually. screen signal pint detected
Edit 5: I made sure everything going is connected properly, removed graphic card, tested RAM on all slots, tried integrated graphics, no results

hey friend. z170 pro gaming was my first motherboard when i tried to assemble my system.I found it as a complete dud because i had several blue screens etc and couldn't make my pc to work. Many others have problems with this motherboard. This was just to inform you with what you got.

Anyway, Bios update. This will be your hope. Try it and inform us! Btw if you want your memory to run at 3200 you should use the correct XMP profile, the default speed for all DDR4 is 2133MHZ
That's an i7.

OLD CPU: (3930k)
6 Cores & 12 Threads
12 MB cache
Base Frequency: 3.2 GHz

New CPU:
4 Cores & 8 Threads
8 MB cache
Base Frequency: 3.4 GHz

The only positives your new CPU has, is that it consumes less power, has a slightly higher clock rate and it has a faster bus speed. Performance may feel slower. (Although I would expect the difference to be unnoticeable in most games or programs.) The difference should feel more obvious if you also went from triple channel memory to dual channel.

I would check the power profile in windows and I'd set the advanced settings to full power for everything to see if that makes a difference. I would go into the BIOS and make sure that my memory is configured properly.
"(is detected as 2200 Mhz thou)"
So, it's obvious the RAM is not setup properly. You know the memory speed (3200MHz) now you just need to know the memory timings to enter them manually into your BIOS. Alternatively, if your RAM and motherboard both have it you can just enable the XMP to have your system autoselect the proper memory settings for your RAM.

Did you format the drive before installing windows again? Or did you do a repair installation?

Make sure you don't have more than 1 anti-virus scanner active at a time.
Remove any and all printers that you no longer have on your network or connected to your computer.

It could be some other type of software issue causing the speed to slow because a setup like yours should never feel slow.

Yes I formatted the drive before installing windows again and no antiviral I'll check the power settings and bios settings soon
