[SOLVED] Desktop wallpaper randomly disappearing

My desktop wallpaper has been disappearing randomly and turning into the default background color in personalize settings. This usually happens when I open a new window or task and it's very inconsistent. Sometimes when my wallpaper is normally there and I hover the icons on my desktop, the square of that icon turns into the default background color as you can see here https://prnt.sc/sv4gto (orange being my default color). The wallpaper disappears on both monitors.

If this info is anything helpful, I'm using an Asus Rog Strix RTX 2080 card with the latest geforce experience drivers and the latest in device manger. I have 2 monitors, Asus VG278QF as my main and BenQ XL2430T as my second monitor both plugged in with DisplayPort. I have an activated Windows 10 home.

Is your user account linked to a Microsoft Account?
It could be sync settings. A copy of your user settings is on a cloud server. I swapped from a 1080p screen to 4k but it would swap my desktop wallpaper to 1080p randomly. Or at startup.
