hi guys

i know that this forum discusses all the latest tech.
but here's my question.
i have a nearly 10 year old Dell Dimension 5150 that i stopped using about 8 years ago.
i took it out of storage and managed to install Windows 8.1 and got it running again.
all's good except that Windows does not recongnize my graphics card or sound card.
I bought seperate cards for graphics and sound when i purchased the system but i have no recollection of what the model or brand is.
since windows is unable to install the correct driver, is there anyway i can find out the brand and models of these 2 cards via a software instead of having to open up the case, take out the cards and then do manual searches?

one way is to google for specs
if you know which gpu (amd or nvidia), then maybe you can go online and have (nvidia for example) detect your hardware and install proper driver.
one thing though, drivers are the same for the gpu's for several years now. meaning, the same driver is used no matter which model you have, but i cannot remember when this started. if it's too old then back then drivers are not yet unified.
but you can open the case, there should be a print on the gpu that is easy enough to find
