I have a brand new Varmilo Retro Keyboard bluetoothed to a new iMac. Inexplicably, the keyboard stopped working. Keystrokes do not register. The keyboard does not work in wired mode. Bluetooth recognizes the keyboard in bluetooth discovery but I am unable to key in the password, or at least, I type the password, but the keystrokes do not register. The keyboard is fully charged. I've changed cables and ports. I've tried a wired connection on a ThinkPad. Nothing registers. Any suggestions?

try a keyboard firmware update if available from varmilo

try uncoupling/deleting the bluetooth connection on the laptops and reconnect the keyboard again

try resetting the keyboard

any hot keys to change bluetooth to 2.4GHz or similar?
eventually read the manual of the keyboard model you have in the section troubleshooting

Thanks for your response, There is a firmware update but after I downloaded it to my iMac and clicked ModifyReg.exe nothing happens. I could try installing it on my ThinkPad. I did try to uncouple/delete the Bluetooth connection. But when I try to reconnect, Bluetooth recognizes the keyboard but I am unable to key in the Passcode. There is a hot key combo to change to 2.4GHz but I don't know enough to connect it. I should mention I'm new to Mac and a senior. Again, thank you helping!
