Deus EX: Human Revolution (Directors Cut) on PC

IMO, This is one of the most addictive first person shooters I've ever played, and I have thoroughly enjoyed this game, so for the record anyone looking for a great game that's much, much, more than a typical run and gun fps, this is it! :)

I am playing this right now. I had picked it up on Steam cheap. It isn't the Directors Cut though. I am enjoying it. Though, I think the graphics aren't super duper or anything, It's still a cool game so far. I think graphically it is just missing those unique textures, smoke/fog, and complex shadowing. You can tell it is a ported game from console. Enjoyment wise it is fun, especially for the price.

I wouldn't say addictive. It isn't Bioshock Infinite addictive. I played that game through twice in a row, where as I usually only play story based games once.

The original version you are playing is missing a section that's included in the directors cut, plus it has slightly better graphics enhancements.

But what I really love about it is, once you play through the directors cut to completion, you can replay the + plus version of the game, which starts you out with all the Praxis kits you earned through the first play through, and your weapons carrying capability is already maximized!

That makes playing through the 2nd time a real blast!

Oh that's cool to know. What section is missing?

I forgot the name of where he goes but in the original version after getting into a cargo pod you end up at Omega Ranch, in the Directors Cut you end up on board a ship at sea locked into an EMP chair, which means all your weapons are gone all your Praxis augmentation enhancements are gone except the raw basics, and the EMP chair keeps you from even using your hand to hand accessed by using the Q button. (Get used to using the Q feature by the way)

It's seriously bleak at that point but it does get better, but you won't experience that in the original version, the Directors Cut is a good addition Steam had it extremely cheap for 24hrs over the past Christmas holidays and even though I already had the original and played it through about 3 times I snagged the Directors Cut, and have not the first time regretted it.

So this is your first play through?, where are you in the game?

This is my first play through. I'm only about 7-8 hours in, thought I always take my time and do side missions. I'm in the police station and I have to get to the body in the morgue. I picked up the game a while back, it was $2.99 and couldn't resist. I see the directors cut is $9.99 and it says you get a discount if you own the original or the one DLC pack. Though, I can't figure out how to get that deal.

I have a few other games in my line up that I've picked up cheap as well, but haven't had a lot of time to play lately because of an accident and can't easily get upstairs or sit that long at my desk.

I've had the original for way over a year, the Directors cut comes with the DLC, one play through at the Police Station something went bad wrong when I went to retrieve the data link from the corpse, held the E key too long and pulled the corpse from the table, alarms went off and I had to shoot my way out of the Police Station, it was either them or me!

That left me with a really crappy feeling, there are some things in the game you are forced to make decisions you don't really agree with, that's when it's best to remember it is just a game.

Sorry about the accident, did you hurt your back?

Sorry, I know that's not any of my business!

I hope whatever heals soon, and you're back to 100%! Ryan

That is what I kind of like about the game. You have to decide on how to enter the building and if you want to go guns blazing. I like to stay stealthy and play non-leathal. Kind of reminds me of Metal Gear Solid 4 a little with the stealthy sneaking around and option to kill or non-leathal. I think I'll play through it this way and maybe wait till the Directors Cut is el'Cheapo next time and play again. I also have Dishonored and Metro: Last Light waiting to be played.

Motorycycle accident. Hit by a car pulling out of a drive way. Broke leg/ankle/foot.

The Directors cut of Deus Ex 3 has "the missing link" but its a standalone as far as I know. (eans you got get to play it in the original, you have to exit the game and start the other game).
Or have they fixed this? (I say fix cus i think its a real bug).

The missing link was great but the fact that its separated from the Original makes me want to scream.
Dindt know about the + version after completion. That DOES sound interesting (thou not sure if worth paying for).

That was a great deal you got on Directors Cut, If I remember correctly that's about the same deal I got from steam at their Christmas sales last year.

Steam is great for those 24hr timed deals!

I've even gotten a couple of games completely free just logging in at the right time, so I try to make it a habit to at least check frequently for any super deals at the steam store, whether I have time to game or not.
